The articulated vehicle jack has a column with support foot, and a spindle-operated lever with load supporting head pivoting roughly halfway up the column. The foot (8) is coupled to the column (1) by a pivot pin (8c), and a pull or thrust rod (9) is attached by a further pivot pin to the lever (2) at a point close to the pivot point of the latter (3) on the column, the two pivot axes being parallel. The free end of the rod pivots on the foot on an axis parallel to the others referred to. Stops can be formed on the lower end of the column to limit the pivoting movement, there being an inclined face on it for the stowed position and a horizontal one for that of maximum height.
