The film used in the projector or cine camera has a thickness a fraction of conventional film so that long footages can be wound on single reels. The camera and projector gates are fitted with double loops of transparent film of normal thickness between which the thin film is sandwiched as it is passed through the gate. The endless loops of transparent film only need by a limited size, and are bent aside after leaving the gate to clear the shutter etc. |
