<p>PURPOSE:To detect the presence of a human body accurately along with a sensitive detection of motion of a part to be detected by setting a detection area in size and layout suitable for a part of the human body to be detected. CONSTITUTION:This apparatus is made up of an optical system 1 of a multi-lens structure for condensing infrared rays from a detection area, an infrared detector 2 for receiving the infrared rays, an amplifying section 3 therefor, a processing/judging section 4 for outputs thereof and an output section 5 for the result of judgment and a plurality of detection areas X are formed on the surface of an object through the optical system 1. This area X is arranged alternately adjacent to a non detection area Y. Then, when there is a motion at a part of a human body to be detected within an area S, the element 2 outputs the motion as change in temperature difference with a background to be amplified with the amplifying section 3 and depending on whether the motion exceeds a threshold preset or not, the judging section 4 detects the presence of the human body. Thus, a motion of a part to be detected is detected sensitively thereby enabling accurate detection of the presence of the human body.</p> |
