<p>The block is made from synthetic foam and has a rectangular section. The top of the block is irregular and has a wavy appearance in both planes. The block is divided by wedge shape slits (31, 32) along more or less straight lines crossing the rectangle. The depth of the cuts is variable and corresponds to a wavy line (71) at a depth of about 2/3 of the block. Fragile articles are wedged into the slots and the block is then packed securely. The cutting lines are slightly inclined to the vertical in each case.</p> |
