摘要 <p>1492443 Valves GOSWIN & CO 1 May 1975 [2 May 1974] 18174/75 Heading F2V A hot and cold water mixing valve comprises a plastics mixing bush 4 sealingly inserted in a housing 1 to form three separate chambers 5, 6, 7. Chamber 5 is connected to the hot water inlet, chamber 6 to the cold water inlet and chamber 7, a mixing chamber, is connected to the valve outlet 13. Axially sliding and rotating within the bush is a multi-landed control piston 8, also of plastics material. Piston land 83 controls an inlet orifice 42 in the bush for hot water and land 82 controls an inlet 41 for cold water. Axial movement of the piston controls the total flow through the valve. Slightly pivotally mounted between the lands 82 and 83 is a slide-valve segment 78, held in contact with the inner face of the bush by water pressure and rotating to control an outlet orifice 43 for control of hot water flowing into the mixing chamber. A similar segment 89, mounted between the lands 81, 82 controls the flow of cold water through an orific (49) into the mixing chamber. Rotation of the piston thus controls the mixing proportions, the slide-valve segments being arranged on opposite sides of the piston and the orifices being in line but axially displaced. The axial position of the control piston is determined by a hydraulic piston sliding axially within the control piston but splined to it for rotary movement. A knob 3 rotates the piston 9, and hence the piston 8, to determine the mixture later and the knob is moved axially to determine the total flow. As the knob is pulled out from the position shown a piston land 97 on the hydrualic piston 9 pumps water from a chamber 94 via bores 96 and 90 into a chamber 95 below the land 80 on the control piston to move the latter upwards. Pressing the knob inwards moves the control piston in the opposite direction. An adjustable stop for the rotary movement of the knob is provided by two mutually splined and adjustably positioned rings 21, 22 having stop segments 24, 26 which engage the knob. Figs. 11, 12 (not shown) disclose an arrangement in which the hot and cold water supplies enter the bottom of the valve housing through parallel entries.</p>
