1492394 Tripods ELLIOTT BROS (LONDON) Ltd 21 March 1975 [26 March 1974] 13290/74 Heading A4H A tripod arrangement comprises three lower legs 1 pivoted at their upper ends to a member 3 which limits their spread in the open position, and three upper legs 5 pivoted at their upper ends to a platform 7 and pivoted at their lower ends to members 9 which are supported on, and are continuously adjustable along a substantial part of the length of, the respective lower legs 1. Each member 9 comprises a collar slideable along the lower leg 1 and clamped in the adjusted position by a lever operated cam 10. Each leg 5 is connected to the collar 9 by a ball joint 8. Collars 9 are prevented from rotating on legs 1 by ribs 11, and stops 12 limit sliding of collars 9. Legs 1 include non-slip feet 4, and collars 9 can be adjusted to provide a level platform 7 on uneven ground. |
