1492056 Chain gearing J H BREMS 1 Nov 1974 [2 Nov 1973] 47335/74 Heading F2Q An intermittent drive mechanism comprises an input sprocket 22 on a driving shaft 20, an output sprocket 66 on an driven shaft 4, idler sprockets 30, 42 carried by an idler arm 24 rotatably mounted on the driven shaft 4, a chain 64 which passes outside the input sprocket 22 and idler sprockets 30, 42 and inside the output sprocket 66, and a link 52 interconnecting the idler arm 24 and an eccentric pin 58 on the input sprocket 22. On uniform rotation of driving shaft 20, the link 52 causes idler arm 24 to oscillate and superimpose an oscillating component of drive to output sprocket 66 upon a constant rotation component derived from the inerconnection of sprockets 22, 66 by the chain 64. Modified arrangements of sprocket and links are shown in Figs. 8, 12, 16, 20, 21, 22 and 23. |
