<p>Constructional component is partic. for use as a support resisting compression and bending loads in buildings, foundations, bridges, vehicles etc. It has two or more plate-or bar-type parts, pre-stressed against each other, in order to generate compression or tension loads in them. It can comprise a dish section and supporting members subjecting the section to tension load. There can be two parts assembled to form an interventing cavity accommodating a supporting core, which absorbs a compression load perpendicular to the dish section surfaces. Inside the core there are supporting parts at intervals, parallel to the dish surfaces and exerting a pressure on their edges so as to pre-stress them.</p> |
