<p>The conveyor transports lumpy, granular or powdery material in bulk upwards or downwards, either vertically or on a slope. It comprises two similar endless belts (5) of flexible material, spaced apart, with between them a number of supports (1, 3) each comprising two similar beam sections of elastic material with surfaces having a high coefficient of friction. These are mounted parallel to each other at the belt edges, but do not protrude beyond them, and have a series of cross-members (3) in the form of partitions, likewise of elastic material. The cross-section of these members is the same as the space between beams and belts, so that they form a series of closed chambers between the belts. Two sets of pressure and/or guide rollers (6, 7) rotate freely on their spindles in a stationary frame, bearing against the outsides of the belts and beams permanently.</p> |
