The clamp fastener is for use for sealing a plastic sheath (6). The fastener embodies two bars (1, 2) of rectangular cross-section which are brought together under pressure to sandwich the two overlapping edges (4, 5) of the plastic sheath. Also included is a deformable washer (3) of oval cross-section which is accommodated in the joint interface. The joint interfaces of each bar are contoured locally (11, 12) to house the washer and form a radial outlet into the sheath. The washer also has a radial outlet (9) which aligns with that formed by the bars.
