Medical breathing equipment uses an inhaling tube and an exhaling tube with standard sockets for connections one end, and securing fittings for e.g. a hospital bed, and connected to a valve (10) at the other end. A mouthpiece for the patient is fitted on the nose (13) of the valve. One tube can be quickly disconnected by means of an adaptor, and a small dia. tube (18) can pass through the adaptor, for connection to a suction source. This extends into the mouthpiece line, and is used to extract saliva etc. which may have accumulated there. Concentrically mounted inside the housing, around the suction tube, is an inflatable sleeve (14) with a tube (15) connected to its interior and communicating with a flexible bulb (16) by means of which it can be inflated. |
