Herbicidal compounds of the structural formula <IMAGE> wherein X is oxygen or sulfur; R is chlorine or bromine; R1 is hydrogen or C1-C4 alkyl; R2 is hydrogen or C1-C4 alkyl; R3 is hydrogen or C1-C4 alkyl; R4 is hydroxy, hydrogen or C1-C4 alkyl; or R3 and R4 together are carbonyl (=0) with the proviso that R1 , R2, R5 and R6 are all C1-C4 alkyl; R5 is hydrogen or C1-C4 alkyl; R6 is hydrogen, C1-C4 alkyl, C1-C4 alkylthio, or C1-C4 alkylsulfonyl, with the proviso that when R6 is C1-C4 alkylthio or C1-C4 alkylsulfonyl, then R3 and R4 are not together carbonyl; R7 is methyl or ethyl; and R8is (1) halogen; (2) nitro; or (3) R bSOn-wherein n is the integer 0 or 2; and Rb is (a) C1-C3 alkyl; and their salts. |
