A testing carriage (1) can be moved along the bottom-head web by means of a guide rail (4). The testing device further has a cantilever (8) pointing in the direction of movement. A projecting means (48), which is designed as a toggle lever, is provided with a test head (30) and can be extended at right angles to the direction of movement of the testing carriage (1), is provided in the cantilever (8).
