1387662 Lighters SOCFRANCO-HISPANOAMERICAINE 9 March 1972 11162/72 Heading F4F A gas-fuelled lighter comprises a casing 1 which is provided with a gas escape aperture 7 and which slidably receives a unit comprising a fuel container 3, an ignition mechanism 2, and a burner nozzle 4, the lighter being operated by moving the unit into the casing until the aperture 7 lies on the axis of the burner nozzle such that a spring-biased operating member 6 actuates the ignition mechanism. The ignition mechanism 2 may be flint-operated. The operating member 6 may be a sliding member, as shown, or may be a rocking lever. The burner nozzle 4 is provided with a burner valve actuated by a valve lever when the unit is moved into the casing. Sliding of the unit in the casing may be facilitated by the provision of co-operating grooves and projections. The arrangement of grooves and projections may be asymmetrical to prevent incorrect assembly of the unit in the casing. Recesses receiving co-operating bosses may be provided to limit relative movement of the easing and the unit. |
