The coin tester has a coin channel between a base plate and a hinged channel support operated by a refund key. It has a feeler on a lever supported on the base plate. It can be inserted into the coin path in a direction opposite to the coin movement. The lever is toggle type (9) whose first arm (10) carrying the feeler (7) is extended beyond the lever hinge (16) and provided with a weight (17). A stop (18) is allocated to the lever's (9) first arm, and a support (15) to its second arm (13).
