Group counting article on balance - uses digital processing of wt. signal to derive item reference wt.

The counting balance is designed to find weight of a sample and count a large unknown quantity of objects with a high degree of accuracy. An electrical signal representing the wt. of goods on the balance is generated and converted into a series of signals which are stored so that at each instant the oldest stored signal is replaced by the newest. An average mean instantaneous wt. signal is obtained in digital form. By holding the digital signal at a certain level with no wt. on the pan and continually monitoring it a single item reference value can be derived for counting articles.
