<p>The separator to remove non ferrous metal particles (e.g swarf) from oil or other fluids by passing the mixture through a magnetic field, uses a special linear motor to produce a variable irregular magnetic field to bring about a vibratory action. A non metallic trough is used to convey the mixture through the field. The windings of the primary part of the linear motor are subjected to vibration due to a non symmetrical construction. This non symmetrical magnetic field may result from dissimilar windings per groove, non symmetrical poles, different widths of the zones of individual strands of the multi phase windings, variable or non variable damping or short circuit windings, or supplying the individual strands with unequal currents with additional single phase windings.</p> |
