Autopneumatic HV load isolating circuit breaker - has annular contact on moving switching pin, sliding over housing wall

The load isolating circuit breaker is intended for pressure gas insulated metal clad switchgear. It has a driven moving switching pin, carrying a piston sliding in a stationary housing. During switching-off the piston penetrates a quenchant flow. In order to provide contact between the switching pin (1) and the housing (2) an annular contact (4) is provided on the pin and slides over the housing inner wall (3). Pref. at least one corrugated contact (5) is used as the annular contact. The housing inner wall may be silver-plated to provide better contacting facility. The switching pin may have an increased outside diameter at its front end (6). The design permits compact construction with sufficiently high current capacity.
