<p>The safety device for hydraulic or pneumatic installation consists of a piston (1) with three circumferential grooves (2, 3, 4). These grooves are normally sealed from one another by a saddle (7) which is pressed against the surface by springs (8, 9). The saddle carries inlet (10) and outlet (11) fittings which are connected to each other by radial holes in the piston and the longitudinal hole (12). In the event of any fault in the installation the piston is rotated so that the cam (13) which is attached to the piston, lifts the saddle (7) off the piston surface. The inlet (10) and outlet (11) are then both connected to the atmosphere through the groove (4).</p> |
