The portions B, D may be integrally formed or formed separately and rigidly joined by e.g. rivetting, bonding or welding. A plurality of such brackets may be simultaneously fixed to a patient's teeth utilising an inflatable diaphragm 3. Initially a model of the patient's teeth is made and the brackets releasably secured, e.g. using wax, thereto in the required positions. The diaphragm 3 is secured to an impression tray 5 which is then filled with impression material and placed on the model where the impression material is allowed to set. The model teeth are then removed from the model/impression combination, e.g. by immersion in hot water, and air released from the diaphragm. Bonding material is placed in the recesses of the brackets and the impression placed over the patient's teeth. Air is admitted to the diaphragm to force the brackets against the teeth for bonding thereto. |
