The mobile unit which travels along an open-end spinning assembly, to clean the individual spinning stations, has a shaped scraper matching the contours of the inner corner of the spinning rotor. The scraper is attached to the end of a rod or blowing tube or can be mounted together with a spray so that air or cleaning fluid can be applied to remove stubborn debris, and the air and fluid can be mixed during application. The cleaning fluid can be delivered in a jet with the air supply providing the power for the injection effect. The rod or tube supporting the scraper is passed into the spinning rotor from outside and pivots on its own axis. The scraper can move into position in a path which is not parallel to the axis of the spinning rotor as it travels with the supporting rod or tube. The scraper travels in a circle in the spinning rotor. The supply of air and/or cleaning fluid is controlled by the movement linkage of the scraber.
