The twin disc brake for the motorcycle wheel has the outside of the brake discs engaged by braking discs (9) operated by expanding ring servos. These have two interlocking rings (12, 14) each of which is sealed on the sliding face of the other by simple sealing gaskets (15, 16). The sealing gaskets are designed to prevent the rings disengaging even with the max. allowable brake wear. The space between the rings is Z shaped and the rings occupy a more compact layout than conventional rams. The fork spacing can be kept to a minimum to improve the strength of the machine.
|
