<p>The plug and socket connector can be used for a flat cable link. The socket consists of a rectangular insulated block, divided into parallel chambers each contg. contact springs to engage the matching pins on the plug. The stripped wire ends of the flat cable form joints with the contact springs and have a clamp to absorb any tensile stresses exerted on the joints. The ends of the contact springs (3) remote from the entry to the plug pins (4) are also spring-loaded and act as clamps for the stripped wire ends of the flat cable.</p> |
