The bed adapter is designed for attachment to any existing bed in place of the head board. It includes a neck bolster (2) which can be displaced by movable swivel arms (4) into any desired position to support the body in a sitting or reclining position. The adapter can be hooked or screwed into the head end sides of the bed and the swivel arms which are preferably of telescopic design can be extended as required. The neck bolster (2) can be locked in any position, between the reclining and the upright sitting position by means of a suitable catch or brake disc. The dead space at the back of the adapter frame can be used to store bed linen.
