The stereoscopic restitution equipment comprises a support (9, 2) for each of the plates (1a, 2a) in a pair of stereoscopic plates of a model, and a two-track observation device (1b, 2b, 1c, 2c, 3) which enables a stereoscopic reconstitution of at least part of the model to be observed. It comprises a support for an object (11) corresponding to the model and the observation device comprises an optical system which superimposes at the same scale, the view of the plate corresponding to the track involved and of the object itself. Applications include the preparation of geographical maps from aerial photographs of a region.
