<p>The glasshouse is heated by low press, hot water supplied by a boiler which has controls which adjust the boiler flow temp. in accordance with outdoor temp. The outdoor detector used for this purpose is a transistor (8) which is mounted on a socket (9) on a plate (10). The plate is attached to an angle bracket (11) which is fixed to a suitable outside wall. The transistor is enclosed in a glass cover (7) fixed to the supporting plate (10) and is surrounded by a black absorber surface (13). The transistor thus responds to both air temp. and solar radiation and therefore controls the heating in accordance with the true needs of the glasshouse.</p> |
