<p>1484795 Wheel and axle sets FRIED KRUPP HUTTENWERKE AG and WEGMAN & CO WAGGONFABRIK u FAHRZEUGBAU 13 Feb 1975 [13 Feb 1974] 6121/75 Headings B7L and B7C A wheel set for a railway bogie comprises wheels 2 having rims 3 and non-rotatably mounted on an axle 1, each wheel 2 having a disc 4 connecting the rim 3 to a multi part hub 5 formed of an inner one piece annular part 9 an outer annular part 10 composed of several segments, an annular elastomeric (e.g. rubber) insert 7 of small radial thickness vulcanized to and between the parts 9, 10, and a part 11 integral with the disc 4 for holding the segments together at the central portion of the disc, the insert 7 having a cross-section in a radial plarie(s) containing the wheel axis, which is arched or V-shaped, the apex of which converges towards the wheel axis of rotation. The portions 7, 9 and 10 are assembled by forming the annular part 10 with spacers, coaxially around the part 9 and filling the space therebetween with molten rubber which is thereafter vulcanized to the parts 9, 10. The spacers are then removed which allows the hub 7, 9, 10 parts to be compressed, to substantially close the gaps remaining between the segments, whereafter the assembly can be inserted into the hub part 11 to prestress the insert 7.</p> |
