The flat element is designed for room heating and is fixed to walls and ceilings. It operates at low temp. and is partic. easy to instal. The flat heating element (2) is sandwiched between two wood-based panels (3, 4) in such a way that basically the same amount of electrical power is converted to heat over any unit area of its surface. The heating resistances is cut from foil, with current leads at opposite ends of each panel. The panel is also backed by a layer of insulating material (7) to ensure that heat is radiated into the room and not lost through the walls.
