Pivot between railway vehicle bodies - has vertical pivot in two rings, one on wheeled support and other on joints round horizontal axis

The pivoting arrangement is between two railway bodies and a common wheeled support. It has a pivot centre of two rings which turn around a vertical pivot. One of these bears on the wheeled support and the other on two cylindrical joints around a horizontal axis. This axis supports the two body ends. The body ends are carried on pivoted arms (1, 2) on a horizontal pivot (4). The inner ring (53) supports these and is supported on an outer ring (52) by ball bearings (54). The bearings are held in vertical members, to a bogie member (3) which may be supported on the main bogie frame.
