<p>The physical re-education apparatus produces a reciprocating movement. It applies a series of tractors adjustable for amplitude, force, frequency and direction of movement. It can have a component moving to and fro to pull a link acting on the affected organ, and a driving member acting on this component cyclically at adjustable frequency, the amount of movement also being adjustable. The direction of movement can also be altered. To limit the effort to the desired value, the apparatus can be allowed to slide in opposition to its own weight and the coefficient of friction of the surface over which it slides, giving a braking effect to absorb a variable amount of energy.</p> |
