1491546 Ferroso-ferric oxide ARMCO STEEL CORP 6 Feb 1975 [22 Feb 1974] 5085/75 Heading CIA Acid waste water containing iron values and hydrochloric, hydrofluoric or sulphuric acids or mixtures thereof are treated by a process characterized by the steps of adding to the waste water a neutralizing agent to achieve and maintain apH of at least 8 such that precipitation of the iron values will be substantially complete, and subjecting the waste water to stirring and aeration to oxidize 60-70% by weight of the iron values of the precipitate and to assure substantially complete conversion of the precipitate to hydrated magnetite.
