1491073 Clips MODULAR SYSTEMS INC 15 Jan 1975 [21 Jan 1974] 1746/75 Heading E2B A clip 10, Fig. 1, has a slotted portion 40 connected by a wall 34 and legs 36, 38 to flanges 14, 12 respectively. The slot has a closed end 52 and an open end 54, the latter having curved surfaces 58, 60 extending to an opening 56 formed in the flange 12 and connecting with portions 70, 72 which taper inwardly towards portions 76, 78. The slotted portion 40 is indented around the periphery of its slot to form wedging surfaces 92, 94, Figs. 3 and 6, which extend towards the flange 14, Fig. 1. When a head 32, Figs. 5 and 6, of a stud 30 which is mounted in a part 26, is passed through the aperture formed by the curved surfaces 58, 60 and the opening 56, and the shaft 62 of the stud is moved towards the closed end 52 of the slot, the clip is tensioned securely to the stud. The shaft 62 of the stud is retained by steps 80, 82, Fig. 1. In modifications the opening 56 is omitted, as shown in Fig. 7, and the flange 12 and the legs 36, 38 have been eliminated, as shown in Fig. 8. |
