This office furnishing unit consists of a working area (10) and a discussion area (12) associated therewith. The working area (10) has a central workplace (30) which is partially surrounded by a work surface (18) and a storage device (20, 26). The discussion area (12) is suitable for accommodating a tabletop (34) and a number of seating facilities (36) and is partially enclosed by a wall element (14). The working and the discussion area (10 and 12 respectively) are provided with access openings (16) facing one another.
