The copying machine has an oxyacetylene cutter (14) following a remote template (M) profile. The machine has a vertical reference screen (1) with a cantilever frame trolley (10-12) incorporating the template follower (13) and the tool (14) and running on parallel screen-mounted rails. As the follower (13) transcribes the template (M), the tool (14) cuts the workpiece (24) to the template form. The template is mounted on a mobile rail (39) guided board (40). Horizontal scales (31, 33) relating to pointers (32, 34) on the trolley and board resp. are provided on the screen face.
