<p>The fork end (1) is cast from an alloy of zinc and aluminium and supports the radio serial. The inner member (2) which is attached to the roof of the vehicle is provided with two recesses (2a, 2b). A disc spring (9) is fitted in one recess (2a) and a stainless steel washer (10) is fitted in the opposite recess (2b). A special nut (13) provided with flats (14) fits in a matching hole in the prong (1a) of the fork (1). A bolt (12) screws into the nut (13) and compresses the disc spring (9) until sufficient friction is created between the washer (10) and its contacting faces to support the aerial at the required angle.</p> |
