<p>The sucket (1) is formed from a disc of polyyrethane with a thin edge (6) and a thick central boss (4). A screwed rod (3) is embedded in the boss. A conical cup (5) is fitted over the rod (3) with the rim of the cup pressing against the edge of the sucker (1). The cup is retained by a compression spring (9) and a nut (7). When the nut (3) is screwed down the central boss (4) is pulled away from the surface of the wall (2). This action considerably increases the adhesion of the sucker to the wall so that it can be used to support articles such as bars of soap, toothbrushes, towels etc. A tapped hole (13) can be used for attached suitable hooks.</p> |
