Dishwasher with water purification process for recycling - produces accumulation of food residue in sump centre through circulating water flow

The dishwater incorporates a purifying process to remove food residue so that the rinsing water can be recycled. The rinsing liquid (18) in the container sump (13) is first in circulation and then once the liquid has become more or less stationary again a part is drawn off from the sump by the emptying pump (23). During the circulatory flow of the liquid practically all the residue is collected up in the middle of the sump and can be removed by drawing off a small part of the liq. The purified liquid can then be used to spray the dishes in the machine and to remove further food residue from same. It is pref. if the purified liquid is supplemented by the supply of fresh water. The sump wall (15) has an inlet opening (25) with an inlet pipe (26) for the liquid which flows under pressure concentrically round the sump axis.
