<p>A horse shoe (1) comprises at least one toe plate (5) forming part of a bracket (3) whose base (4) is irremovably fixed in a recess (2) formed in the upper surface of the shoe (1). The supper surface of the base (4) is flush with the upper surface of the shoe, and the outer part of the toe plate (5) is flush with the outer surface of the shoe. The shoe (1) and the bracket (3) are of mild steel, and are welded together. The base is deformed to provide downwardly extending projections. Where the shoe is made of mouldable material, the bracket is fixed to it by rivets or screws or glue. The side walls of the recess (2) and the corresponding edges of the base (4) converge slightly towards the front.</p> |
