The apparatus measures the movements of the human eyeball, using reflected infra red light. The head is immobilised in a stand and a target is provided for the patient to look at. Between is a lamp shining through a filter and producing a beam of infra red light, trained on one or both pupils. Around each eye is a wire ring (32G, 32D), one having four phototransistors (34) at intervals around it, focused (35) onto the pupil (O). The other eye has two phototransistors. The infra red beam reflects onto these, distribution depending on the movements of the eye. The algebraic sum of the values (a, b, d, c) is electronically processed.
|
