Web inspection and cutting device has a cutting table which in the region of the operator's access is provided with a pair of clamping bars whose ends project beyond the width of the web to be cut and are articulated to vertically displaceable guide rods. Used for inspecting webs having transfers for printing of textile webs. Transfer webs can be inspected, poor quality transfer regions cut out and the matched web ends spliced in an overlapping manner.
