1522775 Phenol alkylation catalyst GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 31 March 1977 [13 April 1976] 13722/77 Heading B1E [Also in Division C2] Copper-chromium oxide catalysts used in the ortho-alkylation of phenols are promoted by the presence of a component selected from the oxides and hydroxides of Group I, II or III metals, Mn, Fe and mixtures thereof in an amount ranging from 3 to 95% by weight of the catalyst composition. The following promotors are added to copperchromium catalysts by conventional techniques in the Examples:- ZnO, Mg(OH) 2 , NaOH, Ca(OH) 2 , and Al 2 O 3 .
