摘要 For the magnetic printing or transfer of characters, a latent magnetic image is firstly produced on a ferromagnetic material which is printed onto an electrically conducting support. The magnetic image is then decorated with a ferromagnetic toner. The toner contains a ferromagnetic component, selectively at least one dyestuff or at least one chemical treatment agent and a resin which contains the ferromagnetic component and the selected component in a virtually completely encapsulated manner. The magnetic image is developed by means of the said toner. The image is then transferred to a substrate, it being possible for the transfer to take place by means of a mechanical, electrical or magnetic process. The character can be transferred either directly or via an intermediate substrate. The device for carrying out the printing operation described contains above all a magnetic printing element (1) which produces a ferromagnetic material which is mounted on an electrically conducting support. The ferromagnetic material preferably contains needle-shaped CrO2. The device also contains means (13) for supplying the toner with the ferromagnetic material, means (20) for transferring the developed image to a substrate, and means (21) for removing the ferromagnetic components from the image on the substrate, and means (24) for the permanent fixing of the equipment on the printed substrate. An important application of the process relates to multi-colour printing on textiles. The new process has ecological advantages compared to conventional methods. <IMAGE>
