The file for sheet correspondence has a cover formed on to a spine the width of which limits the volume of correspondence being stored. The correspondence sheets are held to the cover by a clamping element. The spine (1) consists of ferro-magnetic material fitted with a guide (3) which positions a holding plate (4) also made from ferro-magnetic material and positioned parallel to the cover (2) rigidly connected to the spine (1). The holding plate is adjustable over the width of the spine and is held against the correspondence through at least one magnet (6) fitted on both the holding plate (4) and the spine (1).
