1514752 Storage systems MITSUBISHI JUKOGYO KK 5 June 1975 [12 June 1974] 24338/75 Heading B8W A storage system for handling bottle pallets comprises two blocks of storage racks 30, 31 between which is a stacker crane passageway 33 along which three stacker cranes 32 run, empty bottle pallets being received at receiving platforms 34 with each of which is associated a conveyer 36 which transports such pallets to a receiving position 38 adjacent the passageway 33, while filled bottle pallets are transported by a crane 32 to a delivery position 39 from which a conveyer 37 transports them to a delivery platform 35. When empty bottle pallets are received at the receiving positions 38 a crane 32 transports them to a delivery position 42 from which they are transported via a conveyer 49 to depalletizers 50, 501 associated with a production line (not shown), the latter being associated also with palletizers 51, 511 from which filled bottle pallets are transported by a conveyer 48 to filled bottle pallet receiving positions 43, from which a stacker crane 32 transfers them to a delivery position 39. The stacker cranes 32 are controlled according to a predetermined sequence to perform various transfer operations between the blocks 30, 31 in sequence according to the demand for such transfer operations. Dollies 44-47 run along each of the individual storage racks.
