Tool for seeking workpiece centres - has strips hinged like concentrina pivoting at ends and centre marking

A tool which is used for finding the centre of workpieces of variable dimensions quickly. The centre seeking tool (1) consists of a number of strips (2), with right-hand and left-hand ends attached to strokes. The centre point (4) is clearly marked. The strips are hinge coupled in the form of a concertina, which means that the tool can be compressed and examined. The hinged joints consists of pressed ringlets which can place markings on the workpiece to be measured. This means that the workpiece can be divided in several equal parts. One of the ends of each outer strip is hinge coupled to a fixed pivot on the metal stroke whereas the other end is free to slide along it.
