The method is used for correcting the output signal of a transducer which generates an output signal in the form of a pulse train, the repetition frequency of which represents the physical quantity being measured and in which the frequency is directly proportional to the physical variable over the working range of the instrument. Because of inherent errors or characteristics of the transducer the characteristic, if extrapolated back to zero, does not pass through the origin so that a correction frequency can be superimposed upon the actual measured frequency to obtain a corrected value on a line passing through the original. In order to obtain an accurate correction over the whole working range of the transducer, no correction pulse is superimposed unless there has first been a transducer pulse.
|
