Automatic loader onto log sawing machine - has log positioned and clamped on loading carriage during sawing operations on previous log

The automatic loader enables a log to be positioned on a loading carriage whilst operations on a previous log are completed. The log (2) is delivered up a conveyor (5) and deposited onto the carriage (9). This has four units supporting the length of the log, and two end units clamping (12) the log each side on depression of a sensing lever (13). The log is pushed against a plate acting as an end stop and turned axially to present the most suitable cutting position. On completing the previous log, the carriage advances a present distance (A) to deposit its log on the sawing table (3).
