<p>An impact atomiser for liquids consists of a nozzle, injecting liq. at high press., and a plate. The plate is rigidly connected to the nozzle and has an impact surface placed opposite the outlet of the nozzle. The atomiser produces a practically flat sheet of very small particles with a high kinetic energy. The atomiser can be used for humidifying a gas, for removing dust from a gas, for cooling a gas or for chemical reactions between a gas and a liq. It is simpler to construct and to operate than existing atomisers, e.g. of the type incorporating two nozzles opposite one another, one carrying air, the other water.</p> |
