Gas turbine and gas turbine installation fluid fuels - obtd. by thermal break-down of low grade solid fuels

Fluid fuels for gas turbines and steam/gas installations are produced by breaking down, thermally, solid fuels; the tars in the vapour/gas mixture obtd. being condensed and rectified. The vapour/gas mixt.contg. >5% of tar vapours relative to the total volume of the mixt. is rectified by successively drawing off the condensed and rectified tar fractions. Economises the heat expended in other processes for this purpose and avoids the degradation of the tar condensates due to partial breakdown and polymerisation in the gaseous and fluid phases at elevated temps.
