The brace corrects lesions to the knee, providing support against further injury. It comprises a rigid plastic plate (Fc), formed to the shape of the thigh and strapped (Cs) in place, and a similar formed plate (Fj) strapped (Cs) to the lower limb. Each plate is stiffened by a longitudinal metal bar (Pc, Pj), terminating near the knee in a housing for a bearing (R1, R3). Each forms a link connected together by a third race (D8) at the level of the knee. The shortest link (D1) is the upper and the longest (D2) the lower; a combination of ball and needle bearings allows for both longitudinal and lateral play.
